The New York Times

For an NYU field trip, I got to see all the cool stuff the New York Times research and development has been working on. For confidentiality reasons, I can’t say what they are doing, but if there is an NYU blog post about it, I’ll link it here.

But that doesn’t mean the New York Times isn’t worth mentioning. On Monday, March 28 (which also happens to be my birthday 😉 ) NYT put up a paywall on its website. Technically, this means that you have to either pay large fees to see the content online or pay for a subscription (a Sunday paper only subscription will give you complete access). But, to quote one of my teachers, the paywall is “Swiss Cheese.” Any shared links can be viewed by anyone, so right now the most popular way to read the NYT online is via twitter (just follow the NYT staff feeds).
