The Growth of Audiobooks

A few weeks back, I wrote an essay for LARB about reading in the multimedia age. A big part of the essay focused on audiobooks, which are growing in popularity each year.

According to QZ, audiobooks are growing more than ebooks. MarketWatch wrote that some audiobooks are selling more copies than their print counterparts, and according to The Digital Reader, “audio can outsell print when audio is treated as its original format and not produced as an after thought.” Continue reading

The Ultimate Father’s Day Present: Go the F to Sleep

Ok, maybe not the ultimate present, but it’s a pretty good one. This hilarious picture book for adults has been getting a lot of buzz, so I got it for my dad. Unfortunately, the book only came out June 14 and could not be shipped in time for Father’s Day (he got it today). Luckily, Audible is offering the audio version, read by Samuel L. Jackson, for free, so I was able to send that to my dad on the big day. Better than an ecard, I say.
